Two Continents

In Mid-November this year, I had the privilege to visit the Holy Lands of Mecca and Medina as i completed yet another religious trip. But before that, I had a pleasant 3 -day stop at the beautiful country of Turkey. I gathered some pictures and clips of the great architectures and beauty of the country. From the birds at dawn by the Hagia Sophia Mosque to its glorious gold and green interior, I was able to experience the wonderful moment of witnessing two continents from one place as I cruised on the Bosphorus Sea. I admired the beauty of the many Islamic architectures and royal palaces on either sides and listened to the stories and myths of the past. I enjoyed and learned about the culture while sipping traditional Turkish tea and watching the making of Turkish delights. In the short video, I begin with a dawn on the European side and end with a striking sunset on the Asian side of Turkey.

Fun Fact: The Spoonmaker's Diamond (Turkish: Kaşıkçı Elması) is an 86 carat (17.2g) pear-shaped diamond in the Imperial Treasury exhibitions at the Topkapi Palace Museum in Istanbul, Turkey, and its most valuable single exhibit. It is considered the fourth largest diamond of its kind in the world. (Wikipedia).

It is featured as well in the video below.
